MAN, MYTH & LEGEND
How did we get here? I’ve been creating content est. 2007.As a people’s person, I started out as a campus radio presenter doing graveyard shifts. This sparked an interest in sound production and other technical aspects. I started DJ-ing in clubs in and around Pretoria and Jozi and headlined a couple festivals and rages all over the country. It was time to take the leap into the big leagues – commercial radio. And so I did… I was a radio presenter on one of the country’s biggest breakfast shows, as well as a host on my very own show over the weekend.
Then… something unexpected happened. We lost our two main show producers and the opportunity presented itself for me to step up and become the content producer for the breakfast show. This is how my second biggest passion in life found me – photography and videography. I fell in love with the technical aspects of content creation through the intensive work I performed on-set. Then 2020 happened… and dried up work for everyone. I wasn’t able to work until Level 2. I was itching to create! I did a deep dive did on other streamers, setups, gear etc. and decided that I would put a semi-decent stream together with what I had. Little did I know that my efforts would grow into this amazing community of Buffel supporters from all over the world – the most amazing community any streamer could ever ask for. It’s not my full time job just yet (still gotta pay them bills you know), but I would love to be able to be a full time online content creator.
Where did the name Buffel come from? I was dubbed Buffel by my highschool friends, never really understanding why until one of my friends mentioned it was because of my savage handoffs when guys tried tackling me on the rugby field. Apparently it looked as though someone was being run over by n Buffel.
Which platforms do I stream on? For now, my main platform is Facebook. I love how easy it is to connect with people and have them access the streams and content whenever they want. I am working on simulcasting to Youtube and Twitch, but will still be running my main stream from Facebook Gaming.
Can you join for a game? I try and play with as many of the viewers as possible, and everyone is always welcome when there is a spot open. I’ll often pull in new players from the chat.
Fridays are supporter evenings – this means that anyone that has signed up to become a supporter will have the opportunity to schedule a time and play with me during that time. This is a great way of meeting and playing with not only myself, but other players in the Buffel community that I sometimes only get to speak to in the chat.
